A new book from Dr Tim Jordan, Digital Humanities and Culture, Media and Creatie Industries, analyses whether fundamental forms of communication have changed with the rise of the internet. The book compares a case study of 19th century letters with a case study of 21st century online gaming to argue the internet has made a difference. Tim’s argument is summarised in a post at the international reseach network ‘Culture Digitally’ and the first chapter of his book is available there: http://wp.me/p1XI21-1z1.
