Light is a powerful material that is it is fundamental to our lives, but not all of us benefit from it equally. That is one of the conclusions of the final report of The Configuring Light project, co-founded by CMCI Senior Lecturer Dr Joanne Entwistle. The project now has launched its final report: ‘Tackling Inequalities in Public Lighting’
The research involved roundtables held this spring, gathering together academics with London planning and policy makers including the ‘secure by design’ team at the Metropolitan Police, lighting designers, social housing providers, and homeless charities.
Here is the link to both their latest blog, from which you can also scroll down to download the report and see a film based on the project’s work at experience at London’s Thamesmead Estate: http://www.configuringlight.org/project/roundtables/
