Our Reader in Culture, Media and Creative Industries, Dr Richard Howells, gave a TEDx talk on Utopia to a sold-out audience in the Great Hall here at King’s.
Other contributors to the event included musicians, community activists and professors from the Courtauld Institute of Art and the London School of Economics. Two hundred people made up the audience.
Richard Howells spoke on the relationship between Utopia, aesthetics, religion and creativity, as part of the licensed TED Conference format, which has achieved global exposure the slogan: “Ideas Worth Spreading“. The talks are recorded and offered for free viewing online.
“Utopia –Breaking the Rules” was organised by the Courtauld and sponsored by the King’s College London Cultural Institute. We’ll let you know when the presentations go up on the Internet and provide the link for you here. Meanwhile, you find out more about the event itself at: http://www.tedxcourtauldinstitute.com/
