CMCI Senior Lecturer Dr Ruth Adams has published a paper in a new book which looks at the representation of the British monarchy on film and television.
Ruth’s essay, ‘The Queen on the big screen(s): outdoor screens and public congregations’ examines the experiences of viewers watching live screenings of royal events in public contexts. You can find Ruth’s essay in The British Monarchy on Screen, edited by Mandy Merck and published by Manchester University Press.
Ruth will also be participating in a panel debate on the topic of ‘Us and Them‘ in an event called ‘On the Couch‘, which is part of the Sick!Lab Festival, in Manchester. The panel will discuss: ‘Whether we choose our people, or they choose us.’
