CMCI’s Head of Department, Professor Anna Reading was invited to Denmark earlier this week as part of a series of open talks on cultural memory developing research networks across Europe.
Her first talk at Aahus University which was part of symposium on Memory in Europe examined The Material Migrations of Memory across borders and boundaries.
Her second talk to audiences drawn from English, Communication, History and the arts addressed how digital media is providing for new trajectories of memory for Roma communities in Europe, bringing to light the forgotten history of Roma slavery from the fifteenth to eighteenth centuries.
