On 23-25 September 2013, the Notting Hill Carnival community met to plan for future of the Notting Hill Carnival. In a series of half-day workshops organisers, attendees and representatives from a range of public and private sector organisations engaged in the process of scenario planning, with a view to crafting multiple future scenarios for the Notting Hill Carnival. These scenarios, although not predictions, are detailed plausible descriptions of future entrepreneurial and artistic models for the Notting Hill Carnival which the organisers and planners can use as sources of inspiration to develop new artistic expressions, business models and concepts. On 13 November 2013, at the Trinidad and Tobago High Commission in London, the results of their efforts were revealed. The project was led by Nicole Ferdinand, PhD student at King’s College London’s department of Culture, Media and Creative Industries.
