A new book about celebrity comes complete with a CMCI endorsement.
Fred Inglis’s A Short History of Celebrity is just out from Princeton University Press. Here, Inglis argues that our seemingly modern obsession with celebrity needs to be seen in its social historical context.
CMCI’s Dr Richard Howells loaned a “useful hand” at the typescript stage and is duly quoted in the publisher’s blurb on the back, concluding:
“…this is a heartfelt book by a man who is grounded in Wittgenstein yet familiar with David Beckham.”
A Short History of Celebrity is published by Princeton University Press at $29.95.
